Bekins gave an estimated weight of 7,014 lbs. Afterwards we eliminated quite a bit of weight. After delivery, we paid based on this estimated weight $5,670.41. As this was a non-binding estimate, we were led to believe at time of delivery that this was the actual billed weight. Now, nearly 4 months later, we receive a bill from them demanding an additional amount of $2,621.561 due 4 days after receipt of this bill! It clearly states at the bottom of our non-binding estimate that "You will be billed for the balance of the charges 30 days after delivery." That would have been 08/02/11 not 10/24/11! I had no way of knowing this new "actual" weight which is clearly above the 10% noted on the estimate! What a coincidence as I stated before, numerous items were removed before pickup, not added! Bekins should have been fully aware of this actual weight well before time of delivery. Now I receive this convoluted bill full of complex calculations demanding payment! Where is my weight ticket? How do I know this "actual" weight? Am I expected to just accept their word for it 4 months later!
