Dogs Move, Too! A Great Book for Kids Who Are Moving

The Bottom Line

I highly recommend Max's story to help younger members of the family deal with the move. Not only will they gain some confidence knowing that if Max can move, so can they, but the story also addresses common feelings that most children experience when thinking about moving. Through Max's story, you can open up a dialogue with your child, giving them a chance to express their fears, worries and concerns.

Simply put, it's a great read!

Guide Review - Dogs Move, Too! A Great Book for Kids Who Are Moving

From the Publisher: "I just found out my father lost his job and we have to move. My name is Maximus, but you can call me "Max." I am a five-year-old yellow English Labrador Retriever and this is my first children's book in a series called, "Read with Max." As you read my story, I'll share my moving adventure with you from my point of view. My book includes many photos of my friends and me during my moving experience. After you finish reading my book, you will know that if I can move, you can move too. Part of sale proceeds, the Authors will donate to Leader Dogs for the Blind. Book Honors: 2009 New York Book Festival Awards Children's Category (Runner Up) 2009 Beach Book Festival - Children's Category (Winner) 2009 San Francisco Book Festival Awards - Children's Category (Runner Up) 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Three Category Finalist (Animal/Pets, Best Cover Design Fiction, Best Overall Design Fiction)"

I read this book to my young neighbor whose family is about to move, not just to another city or town, but another country. He's scared about making new friends, of being in a new house and having to start a new school. But when he heard Max's story, he started to feel a little excited about the upcoming move, thinking of all the new places he'll get to explore - just like Max.
