Dallas

In the last few years, the U.S. has suffered in terms of job growth. Most of the large metropolitan areas struggled to register any type of job expansion at all. But lately, it seems things have been picking up in the job market. 2011, in comparison to the past, actually represented a fairly decent year in terms of job growth in metropolitan areas in the U.S. If you're looking for a change, this may be a good time to make a move to a city where jobs are plentiful. The research experts at Forbes have done some work and come up with the best cities in the U.S. to move to for jobs. And once again, it seems like Texas is the hotspot for job growth.

The fact of the matter is that the Lone Star State did well in all three size categories. The Number 1 mid-sized city, El Paso, which was also Number 3 overall, climbed 22 spots from last year's list. And then Austin, the Number 1 large metropolitan area (climbed up from last year's overall 6 position), claimed the top spot in the Big City Category.

In addition, among the top 10 smallest regions, Texas claimed three of the spots. And in the mid-sized category, Corpus Christi was Number 2 and McAllen-Edinburgh-Mission Number 4.

So moving to Dallas may be just the ticket if you're looking to land a decent job in a big city. And the housing options are plentiful and reasonable as well.
