Help Your Pet Settle into a New Home

Thursday September 27, 2007

Cat in a BoxIf you think moving is hard on you, just imagine what it must be like for the four-legged members of your family; locked into a pet carrier, no food for hours, waiting for long periods of time in an aircargo holder just waiting for that little cart to wisk you away to the belly of a plane. And that's just the beginning of their trip.

No matter how your pet moves to their new home, they'll go through a period of adjustment, which can result in a few restless nights for you or, in the case of our cat Sherpa, we went without sleep for two weeks. Avoid the bloodshot eyes and pitiful stares from the coffee shop owner as he serves you your tenth cup of espresso. Read how you can help your pet adjust and settle into their new space more easily so you and Fluffy or Fido get a good nights sleep.
